Knitwear Sampling & Production

1. Sampling Overview

If the provided tech pack includes sufficient details, we can proceed directly to sample production without creating a separate pattern. We will make every effort to closely match the requested materials and stitch design.

2. Minimum Order Quantity (MOQ)

The standard minimum order quantity for knitwear production is 100 pieces per style.
Orders can be split into 50 pieces per color (e.g., 50 pcs Color A + 50 pcs Color B).

3. Required Information for Sampling

To initiate the sampling process, the following information must be provided:

  • Yarn Content: Specify the composition (e.g., 100% cashmere, 100% cotton, or specific blend ratios).
  • Yarn Size: If uncertain, we can suggest a suitable yarn size based on close-up images of the sweater stitch.
  • Stitch Type: Clearly identify the stitch (e.g., cable knit) and provide either a knitting graph or a high-resolution close-up image showing the structure and size.
  • Gauge: If not specified, we can suggest an appropriate gauge based on the provided close-up images.

We strongly recommend sending both a clear close-up image and a physical reference sample of the intended garment to ensure accuracy.

4. Sampling Cost & Lead Time

  • Sampling Fee: Approximately $350 USD per sample (includes international shipping from New York to the manufacturer, approximately $80).
  • Lead Time: Approximately 3 weeks after receiving all necessary materials and information.

Note:
If the stitch details are unclear, providing a physical sample is essential for accurate reproduction. Without it, some stitch elements may not be replicated precisely.

5. Yarn Requirements for Sampling

  • An estimated 500g to 600g of yarn is required to create one sample piece.
  • If you would like the sample to be made using your own yarn, we recommend providing at least 2.2 pounds (approximately 1kg) to allow for trial runs and adjustments during sampling.
  • If you are unable to provide the yarn, we can source a similar or matching yarn based on the description and images you provide.

6. Production Cost

Final production pricing will be provided once the sample is approved. Production costs may vary depending on final specifications, yarn selection, and design complexity.

7. Next Steps

  1. Submit the finalized tech pack, close-up images of the stitch, and a physical reference sample (if available).
  2. Confirm the yarn content and, if possible, provide a yarn sample.
  3. Once all materials are received, we will coordinate with the manufacturer and issue a detailed quotation.

Additional Notes

  • We recommend adding a "Knitwear Sampling Inquiry" at the Comment of the Contact form for easy communication.
  • Please note that sampling fees, production costs, and MOQ are subject to change depending on production conditions and material availability.
